At Birmingham Center for Cosmetic Dentistry, our goal is to provide you with the healthiest and most beautiful smile of your life. And to do this, we offer a wide variety of cosmetic dental procedures customized to your needs.
Some of our patients come to us with severely crooked or gapped teeth, teeth that are cracked, or even teeth that are very discolored and no amount of whitening helps.
The good news is porcelain veneers can be a viable option for each of these concerns. Keep reading to learn more about if you could benefit from porcelain veneers.
What are veneers?
Simply put, porcelain veneers are a layer of either porcelain or composite that is placed over your tooth to improve the appearance — and function — of your natural tooth. And Dr. Milan is an expert in porcelain veneers and has been for more than two decades.
He is proud to offer three kinds of porcelain veneers: porcelain, composite and LUMINEERS.
Porcelain veneers, which are also known as laminates, transform your smile for a lifetime. In this procedure, a thin layer of porcelain is crafted to look like your natural tooth both in shape and color and then bonded to your tooth. The beauty of porcelain veneers is that they are stain-resistant and strong for a permanently beautiful smile.
A second option is composite veneers. This option is less costly and can be done quicker. Like porcelain veneers, composite veneers offer customizable shades and shapes to mimic natural teeth. However, this option is not permanent but lasts up to 15 years.
LUMINEERS are a final option. Much like the previously mentioned veneers, LUMINEERS look and feel like natural teeth. The benefit of this treatment, though, is that your natural teeth need not be shaven or ground down before placement. LUMINEERS can also be placed over crowns and bridges. This option is a way to achieve smile excellence permanently.
If you feel porcelain veneers could be right for you, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with Dr. Milan. During this meeting, he will review each option in depth, evaluate your teeth and make expert recommendations. He will also answer all questions you may have so that you can make an informed decision.
