FOREVER CHANGE YOUR SMILE
WITH PORCELAIN VENEERS
Porcelain veneers – also known as laminates- are used to cosmetically enhance and often transform the appearance of a smile permanently. A veneer is made of very thin customized porcelain that is artistically crafted to a desirable color and shape. They are strongly bonded to the surface of the natural teeth to reshape broken, misshapen, or crooked teeth, as well as provide a solution for discolored teeth that do not respond to traditional whitening treatments. Patients with veneers achieve a natural tooth appearance that is well-tolerated by the gums and resistant to future stains.APPOINTMENTS
Beautiful and Natural Looking Smiles
“When achieving excellent results, my goals is to create a smile that is noticeable only because it looks great and is natural-looking. I know I did my job well when my patients get compliments on a great smile, not on having a great dentist.” ~ Mitchell S. Milan, DDS

THE PROCESS
STEP 1
CONSULTATION
During your consultation, Dr. Milan personally reviews your concerns and determines if you are a good candidate for the procedure. We ask what you like and don’t like about your smile; what would you change about your smile? After discussing your goals your new smile is designed using models and photos. This is done using a “Diagnostic Wax-up” and or Digital imaging.
THE DIAGNOSTIC WAX-UP
During your consultation, Dr.
STEP 2
PREPARATION APPOINTMENT
Before the final porcelain veneers can be placed on the teeth, the surface of the teeth must be prepared. In many cases, your teeth will only need a minor shaping procedure which can be done without using any local anesthetic (“Novocaine”). Some teeth may require additional reduction which may require numbing. We then take an extremely accurate mold of your teeth that will be used to form the veneers in the laboratory. Our expert ceramist will custom fabricates your new veneers while you wear your temporary veneers made from your diagnostic wax-up.
STEP 3
PLACEMENT OF YOUR NEW PORCELAIN VENEERS
After one to three weeks, your temporary veneers are removed and the permanent porcelain veneers are “tried-in.” Once we confirm that everything is optimal, the veneers are permanently bonded and adjusted. You now have your new smile! If notified in advance, we can offer a quicker turnaround time of just a few working days.
POST TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Just like your natural teeth you can eat, brush and floss your new veneers. To assure long term dental health and appearance visit your dentist every 6 months. Because veneers are usually placed over the course of two appointments, it is normal to experience some sensitivity between appointments. After a short while your teeth will feel completely natural but it is always a good idea to be careful (as it is with your natural teeth) to protect your veneers. If you have a history of heavy grinding or tooth clenching we will make a night guard to protect your new veneers and your teeth in general. In most cases porcelain dental veneers will last approximately 15 years.
