Your oral health matters

Perhaps you’re doing all you can to keep your teeth white and your mouth fresh. And that’s great! But many times, most of us could be doing more.

One easy way to rinse away debris after eating when you’re away from home and do not have a toothbrush handy is to rinse your mouth with water. Simply going to the restroom and swishing around water in your mouth for 30 seconds can help dislodge any food or debris that may be stuck between teeth. This ensures that it does not build up and put you at risk for cavities.

We also recommend chewing sugar free gum. This is an easy way to increase saliva and neutralize any acids in the mouth while also sweeping away any lingering food particles between the teeth.

You may also wish to carry mouthwash with you. If you are not able to brush teeth, you may find it easier than brushing. Also, floss picks are easy to pack in a purse or briefcase and can be used after eating to remove food between teeth.

You may even consider keeping a travel toothbrush and toothpaste with you and brushing where you find a place to do so.
